An Introduction to the Sacral Chakra
Our name, Chakra, is inspired by the ancient Chakra System. This system is composed of energetic centers which are generators of spiritual power in the human body and can be used to draw in and expend energy. Although the concept of the Chakra System has existed for centuries, it is as relevant today for aligning the mind-body connection as it was thousands of years ago (arguably even more so, since the dawn of technology and other chakra disturbances we did not face in 500 B.C.!).
Chakra’s practitioners and the services we offer help keep our Chakras open and, where needed, unblock the Chakras.
Each month, we are called to explore a Chakra. In the month of March, we continue our exploration by engaging the second energy center in the human energetic field: the Sacral Chakra. Resonating with the Fire Element, the Sacral Chakra governs forces of emotional and sexual response, creativity and vitality. Known as “the pleasure center” of the human energetic system, the Sacral Chakra stokes the passions of learning, doing and discovering.
Svadhisthana embodies the expression of personal energy through creative endeavors and sexual engagement and manages our ability to manifest ideas into physicality through engaging the art of directive action.
